The property is privately owned and operates a mixed farming enterprise that consists of a boutique thoroughbred horse breeding stud, a horse spelling enterprise and a mixed farming enterprise consisting of lucerne hay production, cattle fattening etc that is based at Bathurst NSW. The property consists of 3 properties of approximately 500 acres in close proximity to each other. The enterprise is very close to the town of Bathurst. The Owner has a vacancy to join the team to assist in the ongoing operation and maintenance of the stud property.

Reporting to the Owner, the successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience in the agricultural sector, and will be proficient in the following areas:

Horse knowledge and handling skills
Have experience handling thoroughbred and standardbred horses.
Property maintenance and repairs. i.e. infrastructure, fencing, weed management and pasture management
Be reliable polite and punctual

Possession of a chemical user’s certificate and/or truck licence will be viewed favourably. A driver’s licence is essential.

The successful applicant will be proactive and forward thinking with the ability to work unsupervised while taking responsibility for the outcomes of their work. They will work closely with the owner and staff to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. This position would be ideal for a young person with horse handling skills that wants to gain further experience.

A competitive salary package is available, commensurate with experience.

Part Time position

A part time position is also available that will involve work on the weekend. The work will involve a knowledge of horses and handling of Thoroughbred and Standardbred horses
