The Jockey Club Information Systems Inc. (TJCIS) is the leading research and production source of North American Thoroughbred sales catalogue pedigrees. TJCIS integrates state of the art technology into equine business operations. TJCIS writes catalogue pages for a host of Thoroughbred sales companies and currently we have an opening for a Catalog Writer.
Catalog Writer Summary:
The Catalog Writer composes and stylizes thoroughbred catalogue pages and stallion register pages. This includes all aspects of writing, proofreading, foreign research and updating.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Composition, editing, updates, quality control, and proofreading Thoroughbred sales catalogues and stallion register pages.
- Attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Assist with duties at reception and switchboard in a backup capacity only.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Above average PC and keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quark Express.
- Ability to multi-task and follow rules/guidelines provided while working under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to follow instructions, work with a team, and give feedback regarding progress of each completed phase in project
- Be available in the office during our designated busy season when required (M – F; August - November).
- Interest in Thoroughbred pedigrees and knowledge of Thoroughbred industry beneficial.
- Training provided with a need for the ability to accept feedback on proof pages from multiple readers.
- Office-based work environment, production driven with daily individual production progress reported.
