Mackay based trainer Mr. Wayne Pomfrett and the Race Sell Syndicate are looking for a trackwork rider. Experience, professionalism and punctuality are a must.
An experienced rider required for morning trackwork and afternoon stable duties. We have well over a dozen horses and there will also be the opportunity to ride freelance after you have finished your commitments. No shortage of morning work available. Trackwork experience is a must unless you are looking for an apprentice position and even then it is preferred.
Please be advised that we have over half a dozen horses who are 2 and 3 year olds that have yet to race. Experience handling younger horses is an advantage although these horses have been broken in professionally in NZ or at Kolora Lodge QLD. These debutantes have been well educated to stable life and are ready to debut soon.
Accommodation can be provided if required. Transport can be provided if required.

There is also an opportunity for a freelance senior jockey to base themselves in Mackay and ride the North QLD circuit. Please inquire if this suits you as we may be able to come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.
