PERMANENT PART-TIME TRACK RIDER

We are looking for an elite Trackwork Rider to join our Osborne Park operation, located in Agnes Banks. Approximately one hour from Sydney, 20 minutes from Penrith and 10 minutes from Richmond.
Osborne Park is a state-of-the-art private training facility that is spread over a 126-acre property. We can accommodate 84 horses in training, split over 4 barns as well as 32-day yards, 27 large spelling paddocks, two horse walkers, a water walker, onsite vet room, rehabilitation barn with 8 boxes and 5 small yards. In addition, we have a private training track, which allows our staff to have a morning shift start time of 5.30am.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of horses for trackwork.
- Routine track work riding including pace work and gallops as per instructions including evaluating and reporting on performance to Assistant Trainer.
- Routine health checks, recognising signs of injury and or signs of an unhealthy horse and reporting concerns.
- Comply with company policies, procedures and industry requirements relating to safety and animal welfare, including Rules of Racing.

Criteria:
- Well organised, well presented, and confident team player with a proven track record of punctual and reliable work attendance
- Sound horse handling skills, with experience and confidence handling thoroughbreds in full training
- Confident and experienced track rider, proven ability to consistently ride pace/timed work with a willingness and confidence riding young horses
- Understanding of horse health care and welfare requirements and measures, with prior work experience in providing direct daily care
- Sound communication skills.

You will be employed as Permanent Part-Time Track Rider, which means you will be eligible to receive leave entitlements accrued on a pro-rata basis.
