Your daily responsibilities include: - Provides live verbal record of races indicating name of horse, rider, lengths behind and any other descriptors for benefit of general public and simulcast audience of Zia Park Racetrack Races - Provides general announcements to public - Conveys pertinent information such as scratches, changes and any other updates of racing information as directed by Mutuel department or stewards - Provides explanations of infractions occurring on racetrack and resultant disqualifications - Provides on-air pre and post-race commentary on horses and participants in races including interviews with race participants - Coordinate with audio-visual department in developing content for daily simulcast presentation - Assists in coordinating needs for general or racing related media or promotional events before, during or after races - May require work during non-racing hours - This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and team members may also be asked to perform other reasonable related duties as assigned. To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set: - Must be 21 years of age - High school diploma or equivalent - Read, write legibly, understand and speak English - Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word) - Must be licensed with New Mexico Racing Commission - Excellent customer service/communication skills - Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy - Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues SUPERViSORY RESPONSiBiLiTiES This job will have no supervisory responsibilities. LANGUAGE SKiLLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. REASONiNG ABiLiTY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. CERTiFiCATES, LiCENSES, REGiSTRATiONS Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
