Summary of Staff Accountant position
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain accurate financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, and other related financial activities. Position reports to the Controller.
Essential duties and responsibilities
· Assist with the monthly close process for the consolidated enterprise including preparation and posting of standard and non-standard journal entries.
· Prepare monthly close for three non-profit foundations.
· Perform monthly account reconciliations.
· Oversight of Accounts Payable.
· Reconciles and assists with Accounts Receivable.
· Assists with Annual Audit.
· Prepares various financial reports and analysis as needed.
· Assists with Fixed Asset maintenance and reporting.
· Assists with preparation of all sales and use tax returns.
· Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· Preferred 1-2 years of related experience.
Knowledge and technical skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work and interact within cross-functional teams.
· Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office products
