Job Description
We are now looking for Senior Track Work Supervisor to supervise the track work activities at Lark Hill and enforce Rules of Racing and regulations applicable to track work and trials.
Duties of the role include the following but not limited to:
- Enforce Rules and Regulations at track work and trials and take appropriate action when necessary
- Responsible for the collection of data relating to track use by Trainers
- Pass on relevant track fees to accounts for processing.
- Instructing trainers and jockeys to abide by track rules as required
- Inspection of the track prior to the commencement of track work
- Brief new track riders on track safety as per the Rules of Racing
- Report any safety issues, such as damage / repairs to tracks, rail etc. to the Track Manager/Curator Lark Hill.
- Ensure all users of the site are familiar with the track rules
- Report any breaches of the Rules of Racing and Lark Hill Track rules to Stewards/Racing Integrity.
- Assist with brands and markings in trial days
- Co Ordinate fast work each Tuesday and Saturday.
- Co Ordinate Jump Outs on trial days and any other day they may be scheduled.
- Assist the first aid attendants if required eg provide first aid assistance in case of accident.
- Assist in any horse related injury or incidents.
- Other duties as directed by the Track Manager or RWWA Steward.
About You:
- Experience with horse handling
- Knowledge of various types of horse gear and equipment
- Knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Racing
- Sound problem-solving and analytical skills
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external clients / customers
- An understanding of the safety aspects of track work
- Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision
- Basic computer literacy skills desirable
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Completion of Year 10
