Senior Software Architect Summary

Seeking a Senior Software Architect to develop web and mobile applications for The Jockey Club Technology Services. We specialize in developing custom, commercial-grade, interactive applications for the web, mobile devices, and enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess a team-oriented approach but also capable of working independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. In addition, the candidate must be adept at analyzing situations to solve problems, self-motivated and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Architect's role is to design, execute, assess, and troubleshoot enterprise software applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle while mentoring others within a flexible team environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Java Development – Excellent working knowledge of Java
Web Development – Excellent working knowledge of modern web technologies and frameworks
Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data (JSON, XML) through various interface types (REST, SOAP)
A strong understanding of complex computer science and software engineering principles
Experience with Transact SQL development (Sybase, MySQL, MS SQL)
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred
5+ years of experience

Additional Skills

Experience with AWS cloud a plus
Experience with ORM based data storage a plus
Experience with a modern javascript framework (Angular or React) a plus.

Position is remote but preference will be given to candidates in Kentucky as well as states we currently are authorized for employment.
