About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance & Facilities Assistant to join our team at the Aintree Equestrian Centre assisting with general Equestrian Centre duties within the arena and its immediate surroundings, including setting up ready for shows, preparing stables and general maintenance.

The Maintenance & Facilities Assistant will
•Carry out basic general maintenance in the Equestrian Centre and Stables, and maintain the Equestrian Centre equipment (show jumps, arena decoration etc)
•Prepare the arena for shows and other equine events, such as setting up and removing show jumps, dressage arenas and advertising boards.
•Lead the Equestrian Centre ‘arena party’ on event days and liaise with judges, course builders etc to ensure the arena is always ready and compliant for use during shows.
•Operate machinery and tools, such as tractors, trailers etc. complying with the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures to always ensure safe working practices.
•Assist in preparing, organising, and maintaining, in a safe and hygienic condition, the stables, saddling boxes, sampling unit and the wash down sandpit, in compliance with the BHA General Instructions. This will include mucking/cleaning out, disinfecting, steam cleaning and bedding as required.
•Keeping office, stables, yards, horse loading ramps and horsewalks clean and tidy.
•Assist on show days, working as part of the Equestrian Centre team to help deliver successful events.
•Assist with the smooth running of the stables, before and during equestrian events and racedays, and in overseeing the Health and Safety and general tidiness around the Equestrian Centre, offices, stable yards, wash down sandpit and horsebox parks ensuring that all Regulations are adhered to.

•Self-motivated with a flexible and adaptable approach.
•Excellent communicator with strong listening skills
•A full driving licence is essential.
•Experienced in general maintenance.
•Confident and comfortable around horses
