About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager to join our Operations Team mmanaging and overseeing all procurement related activities across The Jockey Club group, leading on complex procurement projects and identifying opportunities for sustainable annual cost savings where possible, this role will be integral to ensuring the Group achieves its strategic objectives and budgets, and is able to operate profitably. You will lead and manage the Procurement Team and deliver the procurement strategy through effective business partnering.

The Senior Procurement Manager will
• Embed a strategic approach to procurement processes for the purchase of goods and services (including capital investments) across the Group.
• Oversee delivery of the Group’s procurement strategy, along with managing sourcing capabilities.
• Deliver, and update regularly, the Group’s procurement strategy maintaining contract and procurement systems.
• Undertake supplier due diligence, ensuring to incorporate health, safety, and environmental criteria into the process.
• Ensure the Group’s compliance with the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act for all key suppliers.
• Undertake, and upkeep, a procurement audit schedule to help provide assurance that best procurement practice is being adhered to.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to increase awareness of procurement and to gain support for procurement initiatives.
• Monitor savings and define budget impact.
• Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate best value for the Group.
• Support with the development, and lead on the implementation of, procurement-related training programs for the Procurement team and the wider Group.
• Drive a high-performance culture across the team developing, communicating, and managing performance.
About you
• An outstanding communicator, both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
• Influential stakeholder manager capable of confidently engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven manager with experience of inspiring a team to deliver results.
• In-depth knowledge of Procurement with proven experience in the negotiation of large deals across a variety of categories
• Capable of planning, defining and leading large transformational projects
• An innovative thinker who thrives in problem solving
• Experience of developing procurement strategies to include immediate and longer-term sustainable savings and growth.
• Comfortable in a matrix environment
